Photography Style & Editing
Our work is editorial in style, which means images may include candid, unposed, documentary-style moments alongside directed shots. Editing, color grading, and final image selection are at our creative discretion. We do not guarantee specific poses, shot lists, or editing styles beyond what is shown in our portfolio and discussed during booking, and final deliverables may vary from sample galleries due to lighting, venue, weather, and other on-the-day conditions.
No Guarantee of Outcomes
Wedding photography depends on many factors outside our control — venue restrictions, weather, lighting conditions, timeline changes, guest behavior, and vendor cooperation, among others. We will use professional judgment and backup equipment to manage these risks, but we cannot guarantee a specific number, type, or quality of images, and we are not liable for circumstances beyond our reasonable control (including but not limited to equipment failure, illness, extreme weather, venue restrictions, or events of force majeure).
Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by Virginia law, Dakotah Van Doran shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from the use of this website or from photography services rendered, including loss of images, data, or memories, except where such liability cannot be excluded by law. Our total liability for any claim related to services rendered is limited to the amount paid for those services, as further outlined in your service agreement/contract.
Image Usage & Copyright
Unless otherwise agreed in writing, Dakotah Van Doran retains copyright to all images created, in accordance with U.S. copyright law. Clients are typically granted a personal-use license as outlined in their signed contract. We may display images from real weddings on this website, in our portfolio, on social media, and in marketing materials unless a client has requested otherwise in writing. Images may not be reproduced, sold, or used commercially by third parties without our written permission.
